This nursing CE activity is jointly provided by the Alaska Nurses Association, the Alaska Brain Injury Network, and the University of Alaska Anchorage/Alaska Training Cooperative.
The Alaska Brain Injury Network and The Alaska Training Cooperative are pleased to present this outstanding educational opportunity. We have an impressive line up of national and local experts in the field of brain injury and three specialized training tracks to choose from. This is a two-day conference on traumatic and acquired brain injury (TABI) featuring national and local experts discussing concussion management, neurobehavioral aspects of TABI and screening tools.
 
The Alaska Nurses Association (AaNA) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by Montana NursesAssociation, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Contact hours will be awarded for participation in this activity.
 
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) through the joint providership of North Star Behavioral Health and the University of Alaska Anchorage Center for Human Development. North Star Behavioral Health is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
 
Training Access Funds Available
If you are planning to attend the Brain Institute on March 21 and 22 in Anchorage and need financial assistance in order to attend, you may be eligible to receive Training Access Funds sponsored by the UAA Center for Human Development/Alaska Training Cooperative and the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority.

Concussion Identification & Management Certificate
This certification course is being offered in conjunction with the 6th Annual Brain Institute. The training is specifically designed for coaches, athletic trainers and/or staff to identify the likelihood of a concussion or brain injury. Certificate recipients will be trained to identify the signs and symptoms of a concussion, gain confidence in their decision to pull an athlete/student from their current activity to receive medical attention and be aware of the possible complications and long term effects of a brain injury.
