Dear Alaska School Nurses,

The Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, Alaska Chapter is pleased to announce that the recipients of our Eleventh Annual Community Service Award are the School Nurses of Alaska.

The School Nurses were nominated for this award by our Board of Directors. They feel that school nurses serve Alaskan’s living with asthma and allergies every day in a variety of settings, sometimes with limited resources and information. Additionally, for many children in Alaska, their school nurse provides the only health care that they receive.  Our Board of Directors applauds these efforts of providing care and resources for the health and wellness of the school children through a combination of direct healthcare and partnerships.

Please accept our sincere thank you for all of your years of dedicated service to Alaskans.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Demain, MD
President, AAFA Alaska

Each school nurse in the state will receive a specially made pen acknowledging this award. All school nurses are encouraged to become a member of their professional organization as there are many benefits of membership
