A Change in ASNA Leadership
Posted over 6 years ago by Annette Johansen
Dear Alaska School Nurses Association Membership,
The Alaska School Nurses Association (ASNA) board has a responsibility to represent our association’s members. The board accomplishes these tasks by following the by-laws and procedures that are in place to make sure our organization is performing to the standards set at the national level (NASN).
Recently after much thought and consideration, after a breach in procedure, the board by majority vote, has determined it necessary to remove the President, Suzanne Chapelle from her position. Per our by-laws, in the absence or inability of the President to perform their duties, the President-elect will assume those responsibilities. Carol Asp is now the interim ASNA President.
Wendy DeGraffenried has also submitted her resignation as Vice-president. Therefore, per our by-laws, this position will be appointed by the president before the next board meeting on January 22, 2019.
Respectfully,
The ASNA Board
