Posted over 6 years ago by Annette Johansen

Join us January 15 for a Tuesday Talks Double-Header!
Double the presentations, double the contact hours!
Tuesday Talks
January 15, 2019
6:00-8:45pm
AaNA Office: 3701 E. Tudor Rd., Suite 208
Presentation #1: Trauma-Informed Primary Care
Tracey Wiese, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
6:00-7:15pm | 1.25 contact hours

We will discuss the long-term neurologic and physical sequela that result from chronic, toxic stress in childhood. We will discuss important strategies for assessment, treatment planning and intervention that support clients with these types of histories, ultimately improving primary care outcomes, reduction in health care costs and better utilization of the health care system.

Presentation #2: What it Means & Takes to Become a High-Reliability Organization
Rosa Niemi, MS, RN
7:30-8:45pm | 1.25 contact hours

LIVE from Petersburg! A high-reliability organization provides a reliable service at a reasonable cost while reducing errors even though it operates in a high-risk environment. A good example of this is the airline industry. You want your plane to land safely EVERY time, not just some of the time. The same should be true for healthcare. The high-reliability journey emphasizes safety and just organizational culture, quality improvement processes, use of EBP, resiliency, and other factors that make nursing care more safe, and cost-effective.

Tuesday Talks is a FREE event open to ALL nurses

RSVP to emlynne@aknurse.org to save your seat!
Join us for a LIVE WEBINAR option for nurses who live outside of Anchorage!

Good news! There's now an online attendance option for nurses outside the Anchorage bowl who want to attend Tuesday Talks! Webinar attendees will have access to the presentations via the Zoom platform. You can access Zoom from your PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android device.

We will be monitoring attendance to ensure your participation throughout the presentations. At the completion of our webinar, our virtual attendees will complete a post-test and an evaluation, which will be sent to you electronically. Post-tests and evaluations must be completed within 24 hours and your certificate will be emailed to you within a few days. Please note that any post-tests or evaluations received after the deadline will not be accepted for credit and contact hours will not be awarded.
