Message From the ASNA President, Carol Asp
Posted about 5 years ago by Annette Johansen

Dear Members of the Alaska School Nurse Association,
I want to reach out to our ASNA members and all the school nurses out there during this time. I have read many things about our Alaska school nurses doing some exceptional things in their communities during this unprecedented time of uncertainty. So great to hear wonderful things.
As a reminder of what ASNA can do for its members, you have access to the NASN website and they are offering free Continuing Education credits. You can attend online sessions from last year’s NASN annual conference to help with getting your credits needed for license renewal coming this fall.
ASNA is a great organization for our school nurses. The ASNA is a way of networking, learning, and promoting the work we do as school nurses among many other duties, as you know. As with any organization, it takes volunteers to step up and commit to help continue the great work the ASNA does. I want to reach out to every district in Alaska and ask that you consider being on the board of the Alaska School Nurse Association. I would love to see nurses from districts throughout Alaska so we are sure to be able to reach everyone’s needs to improve our organization. If you have benefited from the ASNA, please consider stepping up and giving back. There are two upcoming positions open for nominations, President-Elect and Vice President. If you are interested in running for a position, please contact Danielle Kern, Vice President and Chair of the Nominations Committee at dkern@acsedu.org
I wish everyone health and safety, and remember to take care of yourself as well as others.
Sincerely,
Carol Asp, BSN, RN
President
Alaska School Nurses Association
