RIGHT NOW, our state legislature is debating the Operating Budget, which funds the Base Student Allocation, the source of school nurse funding.
The Senate Finance Committee will hear public testimony on the budget (Senate Bill 262) on Thursday, April 7th and Friday, April 8th.
Why it matters: This is our moment to let key Senators know how critical this education funding is for teachers, counselors, related service professionals, and school nurses.
Below is the schedule with invited communities listed:
Thursday, April 7th
9:00 AM Interior, Fairbanks, Copper River Valley, & Statewide callers
1:00 PM Nome, Bethel, Kotzebue, Utqiagvik, Unalaska, Dillingham & Statewide callers
Friday, April 8th
9:00 AM Southeast, Prince William Sound, Kodiak, & Statewide callers
1:00 PM Kenai Peninsula, Anchorage, & Matanuska Susitna Valley
