Registration is now open!
The time has come to register for the upcoming Alaska School Safety & Well-Being Summit! Educational leaders, key staff, and strategic stakeholders, including representation from every district across the state, will convene to improve school safety and well-being in Alaska by both learning and sharing methods to: Promote healthy development through trauma-engaged and restorative practices, improve school climate, and be better prepared for any possible school crisis.

Funding Opportunities
Each district will be provided a small travel grant to help cover costs. District teams, you may include a maximum of 6 Superintendent-approved team members; AASB, Alternative School, and AWARE school grantees will not be included in that total.
Alt schools and AWARE schools may include a maximum of 4 Principal-approved team members.
Summit Objectives
- Establish/strengthen a shared understanding of comprehensive school safety and well-being
- Acquire concrete tools and skills for implementation of best practices for school safety
- Build peer connections, identify community resources, and exchange of ideas and information that advance awareness of school mental health and wellness
- Key topics include, but are not limited to, educator wellness, culturally responsive practices, restorative practices, positive school climate (PBIS), suicide prevention, mental health in schools, social emotional learning, trauma-engaged practices, school health, school safety, emergency operation planning, health & safety related policies, equity, and the Alaska Safe Children’s Act
