Resources available - April is the Month of the Military Child

Posted about 2 years ago by Annette Johansen

Did you know? There are more than 1.6 million children whose parents serve in the military. These children may face unique challenges and experiences as a result of their parents’ service.*
Impacted by military life with frequent moves, separation and additional emotional isolation, the children of military families face risks for developing a mental health condition.
Symptoms can show up in their lives as headaches, difficulty eating and sleeping, or misdirected anger and acting-out behaviors. These issues can impact academic performance and result in disruptions in the classroom. Professional help may be required to help bring emotional stability to both the child and the family. We specialize in treating children who are struggling with severe emotional and behavioral issues, using a trauma-informed approach.
We are here to help. To find out more about our specialized programs for the children of members of our military, call 907-264-3506 or visit northstarbehavioral.com
