RE: Research Study for Nurses and Midwives Working During the COVID-19 Pandemic
While the COVID-19 pandemic has waned, the effects of the three-year pandemic on the nursing and midwifery workforces are only beginning to be understood. In 2020, I began researching the effects of the pandemic on the nursing and midwifery workforces and have expanded the study globally by founding the Global Consortium of Nursing and Midwifery Studies. We are now looking at the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the nursing and midwifery workforce. To date, 19,000+ nurses and midwives from 90 countries have contributed to the study.
We would like to invite you to participate to ensure that nurses' voices are included in the data that shapes future pandemic response protocols and policies. We can't be left out, but we need the data to ensure that.
If you are a nurse (including nurse practitioners) or a midwife who worked in any role and capacity between March 2020 and December 2023, you meet the inclusion criteria and are invited to participate. You are still eligible to participate even if you have stopped working as a nurse or midwife now, but worked during that period.
Many participants have reported that completing the survey questions was therapeutic and helped them to process their experiences. All responses are anonymized and no traceable data collected to meet European Union standards of data privacy. We estimate it will take you between 10 to 20 minutes to complete the survey. We also ask questions in free-text format, so please write as much as you like.
You can participate in and contribute to the survey here.
If you have any questions about the study, please feel free to contact me at aps6@nyu.edu or 212-992-7074.
Many thanks for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
