This is a reminder to join today, Thursday 11/6/2025 at 3pm for the next session in our Alaska School-Based Mental Behavioral Health Educational Series.
Topic: Disaster Behavioral Health: Recovery from Large-Scale Events
Presented by: Kira Mauseth, PhD
Objectives:
- Describe behavioral health considerations related to the phases of large-scale disaster.
- Explain how and why disaster behavioral health varies from traditional clinical practice or support.
- Identify some existing coping strategies that are culturally supported and aligned with BH best practices for recovery.

We hope you will all will be able to join us for this amazing opportunity! This is the second presentation in our PAL-PAK/Seattle Children’s Hospital partnership for an Alaskan school nursing/health services learning series.
The presentation will be followed by a discussion where you can ask questions, share successes or challenges, get subject matter expert feedback/recommendations, and hear what school nurses in Alaska are doing to on this topic to support students.
Series sessions occur the FIRST THURSDAY of each month from 3:00 – 4:00pm, through May 2026.
