Request for Nominations - 2017 ASNA Board Officers

Good day to all ASNA Members,                                                               April 3, 2017

As the ASNA Annual Conference approaches, it is time for all of us to start thinking about the future leadership of our organization.

Effective volunteerism is the foundation of our organization and I would like to thank each and every one of you who have volunteered in the past or are currently serving our members.

This year, every officer position is open for nomination and election. This includes President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and National Director. Each officer position serves a one-year term, but the National Director is a four-year commitment per our current Bylaws.

As a past Treasurer and your current National Director, it has been an honor to serve and represent Alaska’s school nurses. I am very proud of our profession, the role we play in our communities and the dedication and commitment in which we serve our students.

As my Director term enters its final year, I would like to encourage those of you who are passionate about our profession to volunteer for a position on the ASNA Board. Please consider this opportunity to play a vital role while contributing to the continued success of your peers - Alaska’s School Nurses.

Nominations have been extended and are also accepted at the annual conference from the floor during the annual business meeting. Members may self-nominate by completing the full application form attached and submit it to the chair of the nominating committee.

Voting will take place the week following our annual conference, which will be held in Anchorage, April 28-30 at the Embassy Suite Hotel. I hope you will make every effort to attend.
